What is the COP26 Green Zone?

With the COP 26 meeting being held in Glasgow, Scotland between 31 October – 12 November 2021, there is great public interest in the global climate summit, where nations will meet and make pledges to avert a climate change over the coming decades.

But what opportunities are there for the general public and citizens to engage in the public-facing COP exhibition?

What is the Green Zone for public participation?

Whilst the COP26 Meeting is proceeding, there is a special Green Zone with the opportunity for the general public and concerned citizens to attend events hosted at the Glasgow Science Centre between 9 in the morning until 6 in the evening as well as cinema sessions from 6 to 10pm each evening.

Within the Green Zone, youth groups, civil society, academia, artists, business from across the UK and all over the world will be hosting events, exhibitions, cultural performances, workshops and talks. That is over 100 exhibitors, 200 events and 11 sponsors taking over the space with amazing opportunities to listen, learn and celebrate climate action.
