During a recent visit to International Organisation for Standardization (ISO) in Geneva, I was struck by two valuable resources published in their informative magazine; ISOfocus.
You will recall ISO is the organisation, best known by environmentalists for the development and publication of the Environmental Management System Standard; ISO 14001:2015.
In order to give greater publicity to the role of International Standards, ISO publishes ISOfocus as a magazine available with six editions each year.
The two most recent editions (as at 3 March 2016) have covered the key environmental issues ranging from publication of the new ISO 9001:2015 & ISO 14001:2015 Management System Standards for Quality and Environment respectively (ISOfocus Edition 113, November – December 2015) & climate chaos covering the ISO 14060 series standards on Greenhouse Gas emissions and practical grassroots developments in cookstoves, which could ensure that 100 million homes have clean and efficient stoves by 2020 (ISOfocus Edition 114, January – February 2016).
The ISOfocus editions 113 and 114 are available from the ISO website at http://www.iso.org/iso/home/news_index/iso_magazines with editions published in English, French and Spanish.
