A new initiative aimed at reducing energy wastage has been launched by Edward Davey, the newly appointed Energy and Climate Change Secretary.

The creation of a dedicated team within DECC (Department of Energy and Climate Change) called the “Energy Efficiency Deployment Office” (EEDO) will spearhead energy efficiency policy and make it more relevant to people’s everyday lives.
It will be interesting to review the impacts of this new team in six months – a year to see whether it lives up to the challenges or whether it is another wasted government initiative in this important area of the national economy.
