Earlier in May 2022, I had the privilege to be the guest on the Society for the Environment‘s video and audio podcast, EnvCast, in a special episode supporting World Environment Day 2022 and its theme of #OnlyOneEarth.
Dougal Driver FICFor CEnv conducted our discussions as a special guest host as he is World Environment Day lead at the Society, it made him the ideal chair for this special episode of the podcast. Dougal is a Chartered Environmentalist via the Institute of Chartered Foresters (ICF). Among his many roles, he is Chief Executive of Grown in Britain, chairs several forestry committees, advise ministers, wildlife trusts and private companies on organisational and environmental strategies.
My contribution was as his guest with my perspective on the theme of World Environment Day 2022 from my background as an independent consultant, providing expertise to clients in carbon and energy reporting, and the development of Environmental Management Systems to a number of organisations. Additionally, my work with accreditation bodies to assess certification bodies & is the UK Technical Expert for the verification and validation of environmental information is recognised. My qualifications include being a Chartered Environmentalist & a Full Member of the Institute of Environmental Management and Assessment, and a registered IEMA Environmental Auditor.
We covered many environmental and sustainability topics during our discussions including alighting on role of environmental management and ISO 14001 certification, pollution incidents and prevention, the power of many in enhancing our shared environment & role of Chartered Environmentalists in driving forward on a more sustainable business agenda.
