Recycle Week takes place from 16th to 22nd June 2014 giving an ideal opportunity for businesses to focus all our efforts on recycling.

As the event takes place annually, Recycle Week aims to encourage people to recycle more whether at home, work or on the go. This year’s theme is ‘recycling at home and away’.

Recycle Week is a great opportunity to promote recycling and encourage participation by:

  • Thanking your staff for recycling at work
  • Giving feedback on how your company is doing and what has been achieved to date
  • Explaining the importance of recycling to your business, in terms of reputation, financial savings and environmental responsibility
  • Showing staff what more can be done to increase your recycling and improve the quality through reduced contamination

There are a range of media that can be used to promote recycling including; posters and signage, features on company intranets and in newsletters, daily tips by email or display boards in reception areas or canteens.

You may want to go to the WRAP website, which provides a number of resources for businesses looking to get involved in Recycle Week.

If you’d like to get involved with Recycle Week, you can now find the 2014 guide on the WRAP Resource Library at http://bit.ly/1o1lNFl, which is full of ideas for how different types of organisations can get involved.
