
Earlier this week (11 June 2013) saw the launch of a new resource for waste professionals from the Chartered Instutution of Wastes Management (CIWM).
The Chartered Institution of Wastes Management is the professional body which represents over 6,500 waste professionals working in the sustainable resources and wastes management sectors, predominantly in the UK but also overseas. CIWM sets the professional standards for individuals working in the industry and has various grades of membership determined by education, qualification and experience. The CIWM was , originally established in 1898 as “The Association of Cleansing Superintendents of Great Britain” was granted its Royal Charter in 2002.
The latest web-based resource delivers daily news and exclusive content concerning the waste and resource management industry. Additionally, it includes an archive of CIWM Journals and MVO magazines, which is restricted to member access only.
The site operates in addition to www.ciwm.co.uk, which remains the main portal for CIWM members to record their continuing professional development and for information on training courses, conferences and industry events. There are links to all other CIWM websites, products and services in the drop down menu at the top of this site.
