Every year Noise Action Week provides local authority noise teams, housing providers, mediation services and businesses concerned with reducing the impact of noise a focus for raising awareness of noise problems.
Noise in the wrong place at the wrong time that affects the quality of life in our neighbourhoods. Noise is a common cause of neighbour disputes, and can impact our health and well-being.
During Noise Action Week 2013 we are encouraging everyone to consider how they can avoid causing noise disturbance – at home, in the street, at work and at play.
Here are just a few examples of the inspirational work undertaken last year to promote a healthy attitude to noise:
- Nearing end of term party time – Hull CC worked to keep student noise under control
- Young actors demonstrated the value of mediation for Coast and Country Housing in the North East
- Across the South East Guinness South housing worked with local authorities including Hackney Colchester and Brighton to have a quiet word with residents
Noise Action Week 2013 is supported by:
Institute of Acoustics – Bruel and Kjaer – Bath and NE Somerset Council – Brighton and Hove City Council – East Staffs Council – East Riding Council – Elmbridge Council – North Somerset Council – Swindon Council
