I was privileged to attend one of the regional workshops held by the IEMA (Institute of Environmental Management and Assessment) to facilitate greater knowledge of the revision process and of the proposed revisions.

The workshop was facilitated by James Thorne with great skill and highlighted the key issues with opportunities for the delegates to discuss the current revision in the Committee Draft (CD) version within the context of their own organisations.

It should be noted that the content of the Committee Draft is subject to change as part of the revision process and its content can not be assumed to reflect the final standard in part or in whole.

However, the workshop and engagement by the IEMA provides a great opportunity for environmental practitioners to understand the current revision and provides a powerful voice within the International Organization for standardization (ISO) revision process.

Further information form IEMA members on current status of the revision process can be found on the IEMA website at http://bit.ly/1731ham with a copy of the Committee Draft available at http://bit.ly/14jihgE
